Robotic aluminum welding requirements for welding materials
1. Selection of welding wire aluminum and aluminum alloy welding wire
In addition to considering the good welding process performance, according to the requirements of the container, the tensile strength and plasticity of the butt joint ( through bending test ) can meet the specified requirements, and the magnesium content exceeds 3%. Aluminum - magnesium alloys should meet the requirements of impact toughness. For containers with corrosion resistance, the corrosion resistance of welded joints should be at or near the level of the parent metal. Therefore, the selection of the welding wire is mainly in accordance with the following principles:
2. Protective gas
The protective gas is argon, helium or a mixture thereof. For AC plus high frequency TIG welding, more than 99.9% pure argon gas is used, and DC positive polarity welding is suitable for helium gas. For MIG welding, argon should be used when the thickness is less than 25 mm; 10% to 35% of helium should be added to the argon when the thickness is 25 mm to 50 mm; l0% should be added to the argon when the thickness is 50 mm - 75 mm. 35% or 50% helium; argon with 50% to 75% helium is recommended when the plate thickness is > 75 mm. Argon should meet the requirements of GB/T 4842 - 1995 "Pure Argon". If the pressure of the argon cylinder is lower than 0.5 MPa, the pressure is insufficient and cannot be used.
3. Tungsten
The tungsten material used for argon arc welding is pure tungsten, tantalum tungsten, tantalum tungsten or zirconium tungsten. The pure tungsten has a high melting point and a high boiling point, is not easily melted and volatilized, and has less electrode burnout and tip contamination, but has poor electron emission capability. The electrode with 1% to 2% yttrium oxide added to pure tungsten is a lanthanum tungsten electrode, which has strong electron emission capability, high allowable current density, and stable arc burning, but the lanthanum element has certain radioactivity and should be properly protected during use. Measures. An electrode in which 1.8% to 2.2% of cerium oxide ( impurity ≤ 0.1% ) is added to pure tungsten is a strontium tungsten electrode. The tungsten - tungsten electrode has low electron emission, high chemical stability, high current density, and no radioactivity. It is a commonly used electrode. The zirconium tungsten electrode prevents the electrode from contaminating the base metal, and the tip is easy to maintain a hemispherical shape, which is suitable for AC welding.
4. Flux
The flux for gas welding is a chloride and fluoride of elements such as potassium, sodium, lithium, and calcium, and the oxide film can be removed.
